I keep hearing people say, “Thank God 2020 is over.” But I can’t help but wonder why they think that 2021 is going to be better. I mean... based on what? This past year was horrible. On that, we can all agree. What we all should also be able to agree on is that there have been many, MANY horrible years throughout human history. But something about the way this year went down doesn’t sit well with me.
As you all know by now, I try not to get political on my blog. Occasionally, something will irk me enough to reveal my slight-left-leaning ideology, but for the most part, I try to keep those beliefs private. But are we seriously all going to pretend this past year was just a bad year and nothing more was going on behind the scenes? Seriously?!
I have a couple of relatives that are not right-wing nut jobs, but definitely not moderate either. They abide somewhere in the middle of the right end of the political spectrum.
They are the type to always forward some conspiracy chain email with the hope that, somehow, they’re going to help me see the “truth.” And virtually every time, I’ve found what they’ve sent to be complete garbage. At first glance, when they sent me something about the “Great Reset,” I of course deleted it without more than a two or three line glance at the article. But then something happened. That something was 2020.
And before this shitball of a year was through, I kept hearing more and more about the using this pandemic as an opportunity for a “reset.” And you don’t even have to look at the obscure websites to find this “conspiracy theory” any more. It was recently on the cover of TIME magazine. And Prime Minister Trudeau, among many other world leaders, mentioned it in a speech recently. And this whole “Build Back Better” motto fits suspiciously rather comfortably in this reset. I voted for Biden, who of course held this as his primary slogan, and am now having increasing buyer’s remorse as I learn more and more.
I’m no fan of Trump. Not even a little bit. But even I can admit that something wasn’t right about the way this past year went down (or the past four years, for that matter). People with power, around the world, did not want this wildcard of a leader holding the most powerful office in the world. They are afraid of the disruption someone like him would cause. This new world we live in, so tightly woven together now, is wrought with global elites machinating behind the scenes to create some new world order. (I can’t believe I’m typing some of these phrases, but I also can’t pretend they’re not real anymore.)
And before you scoff at me and turn a blind eye, like so many others have these past few years... including myself... it’s time for you to first do some research for yourself. And don’t use Google, Bing, Youtube, or Twitter to do your research. It’s also no secret that they are censoring speech like nothing we’ve ever seen. I recommend DuckDuckGo, Rumble and Parler. You’ll find a lot of right-wing nut jobs, but at least you won’t find censored speech.
